Giant Peony Cameo Bowl in Moss Celadon

$650.00

This bowl is a trophy piece! In the cameo center is a peony leaf, surrounded by a wide frame of an intricate geometric point pattern made by individual marks made by a church-key. I dip the whole piece in my black glaze first, then wipe that off, leaving the black in the deepest indentations of the points and in the outlines, stem, and veins of the leaf. In this case, I’ve glazed the whole interior in my moss green celadon, for maximum functionality. You can serve liquids, semi-liquid, or dry stuff in this bowl. But you’ll need a crowd! The close-up shot is to show you the interesting crystalline pattern that came out of this firing.
