I was really excited recently to have discovered Anne Vaughn’s work—she’s a jewelry designer in Floyd, Virginia. Her work is elegant, sparkly, tasteful, can be dressed up or down, and is reasonably priced. She uses real stones and gems in lovely combinations. I almost sold out of what I had in stock of her work during the Studio Tour in November, and happily, I was able to restock in time for the holidays.
Calm and luminous, Ocean Waves borrows its palette from blue water, pale sand and late-day gold. Just at the front of a delicate gold filled chain, a short row of faceted blue tourmaline, taupe chalcedony and golden freshwater pearls catches the light. Adjustable from 15 to 17 inches, it closes with a gold filled lobster claw clasp and is lead and nickel free. Alone, it frames a square neckline; it also makes a neat first layer beneath longer chains.
