I was really excited recently to have discovered Anne Vaughn’s work—she’s a jewelry designer in Floyd, Virginia. Her work is elegant, sparkly, tasteful, can be dressed up or down, and is reasonably priced. She uses real stones and gems in lovely combinations. I almost sold out of what I had in stock of her work during the Studio Tour in November, and happily, I was able to restock in time for the holidays.
Cool and quietly luminous, the Equinox collection holds light and shadow in even measure. These small hoops are strung on matte gold plated brass, lead and nickel free, with faceted labradorite and moonstone rondelles, a few flat labradorite discs, and a single mossy aquamarine bead marked out by gold spacers. They measure 1.5 inches on matte gold plated brass ear wires and sit close to the ear. Light enough for daily wear, they go from a linen shirt at the farmers market to dinner without a change.
