I was really excited recently to have discovered Anne Vaughn’s work—she’s a jewelry designer in Floyd, Virginia. Her work is elegant, sparkly, tasteful, can be dressed up or down, and is reasonably priced. She uses real stones and gems in lovely combinations. I almost sold out of what I had in stock of her work during the Studio Tour in November, and happily, I was able to restock in time for the holidays.
Serene and softly lit, the Equinox collection pairs cool gemstones with bright gold in the spirit of the season's turning point. Across the front, faceted rondelles of labradorite, mossy aquamarine, and pale moonstone are strung in loose color sections with gold spacers, while a slim electroplated gold paperclip chain carries the piece around the neck. Matte gold plated brass hardware, lead and nickel free, closes with a lobster claw clasp, adjustable from 15 to 17 inches. Its short length sits neatly above a boat neck or a crew-neck sweater.
