I was really excited recently to have discovered Anne Vaughn’s work—she’s a jewelry designer in Floyd, Virginia. Her work is elegant, sparkly, tasteful, can be dressed up or down, and is reasonably priced. She uses real stones and gems in lovely combinations. I almost sold out of what I had in stock of her work during the Studio Tour in November, and happily, I was able to restock in time for the holidays.
Deep reds, amber and olive meet matte gold in the Ember collection, a nod to firelight and falling leaves. This necklace is a textured matte gold plated brass chain, lead and nickel free, with a row of small drops along the front: faceted jasper and Czech glass in berry, green, cream and mustard, with a scalloped spiny oyster shell disc hanging at the center. A lobster claw clasp and extender adjust it from sixteen to eighteen inches, so it rests at the collarbone over a crewneck or an open-necked shirt.
