This little bud vase is part of my experimentation with new clay bodies and decorating techniques. Here, I’ve used a manganese-speckled clay decorated with an intense orange underglaze. I’m also trying to translate Japanese brushwork, called sumi-e, to make gestural birds in black and white. This little vase might make you happy. Just a warning.
