Sumi Bud Vase with Perched Bird in Tangerine

I got to experiment with various underglaze colors on a buff clay (that did not work out as a substitute for my Ellen Buff). I made lots of little bud vases and had fun using a Japanese ink-brush technique with black and white underglazes to make these sweet little birds. This piece is tangerine with a clear glaze and features a heron.

6.5” tall by 3.5” diameter.
